WR Amari Cooper was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills. The Browns received third- and seventh-round picks while giving up Cooper and a sixth rounder. Cooper, the top WR for the Browns, will slot in as the Bills' No. 1 WR once he settles into the offense.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network: "So the trade market is heating up fast and the latest move is Amari Cooper going to the Bills from the Browns, who get a third-round pick as part of a pick swap in the deal."
Cooper has had over 1,100 yards receiving in four of his last five seasons and has been a true No. 1 WR throughout his NFL career since being drafted in 2015.
Cooper has played on the Raiders, Cowboys, and Browns. He will now add a fourth team in the Bills.
With the Bills trading away Stefon Diggs in the offseason, they have lacked a true top receiving target this season.
Cooper is still extremely talented now in his age-30 season.
The situation props Cooper's upside week to week and saves what was destined to be a poor fantasy season in Cleveland.
Bills QB Josh Allen is a clear winner, finally getting a talented WR to throw to. With WR Khalil Shakir being the top wideout for Allen, there have been consistent disappointing passing performances throughout the season so far.
Cooper's arrival should also help open up the run game with RB James Cook and even TE Dalton Kincaid in terms of getting open.
Liam Coen arrives with a trail of offensive breakouts. What can he do with his Jacksonville Era? And which other coaches will write the top stories of 2025?
